POTG Tuesday Morning Headlines, News, and Links

Things never seem to settle down in Smashville. Yesterday, the Milwaukee Admirals hired Kirk Muller as their new head coach and had an eventful press conference to make the big announcement.

The Predators developmental camp opens today at Centennial SportsPlex with the first public on ice session tomorrow.

Yesterday was the deadline for qualifying RFA'a and we have a link to the complete list of who was and who wasn't.

The Phoenix Business Journal reports that Matthew Hulsizer has withdrawn his offer to buy the Phoenix Coyotes.

James O'Brien at PHT has the complete list of RFA that were and were not given qualifying offers by their clubs. One of the oddest moves was the Avs not qualifying Brian Elliotte.

The committee will meet today and we expect to hear the names that will make up this year's Hockey Hall of Fame class later this afternoon at 2 p.m. CDT. NHL Network will cover it live.

Playoff star Kevin Bieksa contract signed a $23 million, five-year contract to stay in Vancouver. Max Lapierre also re-signed.

Rob Rossi reports that the Pens hope to re-sign Tyler Kennedy in spite of not qualifying him and also have Jaromir Jagr signed this week. More good news in Pittsburgh as Dan Bylsma reports that Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin should bet at full speed in camp in September.

Pierre McGuire is headed to Connecticut with the family to work for Versus and NBC.

Jeff Cater finally came out of shock and spoke to  Aaron Portzine yesterday.

The Avs did not qualify Brian Elliott leaving them with no goalies with NHL experience heading int free agent day.

Hockey's Future looks at the college players selected in the 2011 Entry Draft.

The Vancouver Canucks who had their AHL team booted out of Winnipeg hooked up with Atlanta's old team, the Chicago Wolves. As well as the Nucks and Hawks get along, I wonder how this will work with the fans.
