PREDATORS SIGN 2008 SEVENTH-ROUND PICK ANDERS LINDBACK
Nashville, Tenn. (May 26, 2010) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed goaltender and 2008 draft pick Anders Lindback (AHN-dehrs LIND-bahck) to a two-year entry-level contract.
Lindback, 22 (5/3/88), spent his first full season as a starting netminder for Timra of the Swedish Elite League (Elitserian) in 2009-10. The 6-6, 205-pounder ranked fifth in the Elitserian in save percentage (.913) and sixth in goals-against average (2.46), while tying for fourth in the league in shutouts (4) last season. The tallest player ever drafted by the Predators, Lindback recently earned a bronze medal with Sweden at the 2010 World Championships, his first time representing his nation in international competition.
The Gavle native was Nashville's seventh choice, 207th overall (seventh round), in 2008 Entry Draft. He is expected to attend training camp in September and play his first North American season in 2010-11.
Here's a little more from Cap Geek about the signing.
