PREDATORS SIGN 2007 DRAFTEE BEN RYAN TO AN ENTRY-LEVEL CONTRACT

Nashville, Tenn. (April 11, 2011) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed 2007 draft pick Ben Ryan to a two-year entry-level contract.

Ryan, 22 (10/16/88), recently completed his four-year collegiate career at the University of Notre Dame where he amassed 97 points (35g-62a) in 159 games. As a senior alternate captain in 2010-11, the 5-11, 197-pound center posted 25 points (6g-19a) while playing in all 44 of Notre Dame’s contests, helping the Fighting Irish to their second Frozen Four appearance. Ryan was a freshman on the 2008 UND squad that reached the National Championship Game and the 2009 team that swept both the CCHA regular season and tournament titles.

The Detroit, Mich., native joined the Predators primary developmental affiliate in the American Hockey League – the Milwaukee Admirals – on an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO) this weekend, and will remain with the club through their 2011 Calder Cup run.
