-Successful year sees Bridgestone Arena net second ACM nomination-
Nashville Tenn. (January 30, 2012) – Bridgestone Arena has been nominated for 2011 Venue of the Year at the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Four other venues have been nominated for this honor, including the BOK Center (Tulsa, Okla.), First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre (Chicago), Jiffy Lube Live (Bristow, Va.) and Sprint Center (Kansas City, Mo.). Bridgestone Arena took home Venue of the Year at the 45thAnnual ACM Awards for calendar year 2009.
“This nomination speaks volumes on Bridgestone Arena as a premier country music venue,” Bridgestone Arena Vice President of Booking David Kells said. “Though we offer a variety of entertainment, from Nashville Predators games, to the circus to rock shows, we haven’t forgotten Nashville’s music roots; this past year we hosted several successful country shows such as Brad Paisley, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Zac Brown Band, Keith Urban, CMA Awards and the CMT Music Awards. We are proud of this nomination and hope to bring home a second ACM Venue of the Year Award.”

Industry awards, including the Venue of the Year Award, will be announced later in the year in Nashville.
Serving as the home for numerous national and international events, Bridgestone Arena has the distinction of being one of the busiest venues in the Unites States over the past decade and a half, hosting more than 18 million guests during that time and being named one of the Top 10 busiest venues in the country for the last two years by top industry publication, Pollstar.
