Nashville Predators Recall Andreas Thuresson Before Game with San Jose

The Nashville Predators announced that Andreas Thuresson has been recalled this morning before tonight's game in San Jose. This is probably an indication that the injury to Nick Spaling will prevent him from suiting up for tonight's contest or that he may be a game time decision.

NASHVILLE PREDATORS RECALL ANDREAS THURESSON

Nashville, Tenn. (January 8, 2011) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled forward Andreas Thuresson (an-DRAY-uhs TUHR-eh-suhn) from Milwaukee (AHL). Thuresson is the 17th Predators draft pick to appear on the team’s roster this season, tying a franchise record set last season.


Thuresson, 23 (11/18/87), has 15 points (4g-11a) and 12 penalty minutes while appearing in all 38 of Milwaukee’s games this season. In four different stints with the Predators a season ago, the Kristianstad, Sweden native posted three points (1g-2a) in 22 contests, including an assist on Nov. 10, 2009 at San Jose. Now in his fourth North American professional season, Nashville's seventh choice, 144th overall (fifth round), in 2007 Entry Draft has amassed 95 points (43g-52a) in 239 AHL contests.


The Predators will attempt to complete their second-ever three-game sweep of California tonight at 7 p.m. when they clash with the San Jose Sharks (FOX Sports Tennessee, 102.9 The Buzz). The Predators return to Bridgestone Arena ice on Tuesday when they host the Minnesota Wild (7 p.m. CT, 102.9 The Buzz). Tuesday’s meeting against the Wild is also a Daily’s Super Tuesday night. Daily's Super Tuesday packages include two upper-level tickets for $42 or two lower-level tickets for $92. There will also be special concession stands where all items are just $2, as well as a reduced $2 ticket service fee.
