Predators Roster officially at 26: Ellis to Milwaukee, Kyle Wilson on Waivers

As expected, the Nashville Predators further reduced their roster to 23 healthy non-waived players today by sending Ryan Ellis to Milwaukee and placing Kyle Wilson on waivers according to multiple sources at Centennial Sportsplex.

Ryan Porth has the audio from Barry Trotz's announcement.

Mike Fisher and Francis Bouillon are still officially on the roster but appear headed to Injured Reserve. There was indication that Mattias Ekholm's status was still being evaluated.

Earlier today we had our post with Barry Trotz's thoughts about the players on the bubble and he was very positive about Ellis and his progress in camp. There is little doubt that he will play in Nashville at some point this season.

Wilson was the likely pick to be the odd man out based on playing time and the positive reviews of the others in camp. It is unclear if the Preds will further reduce the roster prior to opening day.

There is also the possibility as we pointed out here, that the Preds could still make a trade or pick up someone on the waiver wire. So while the roster appears set, there is a history of pick-ups at the end of camp.
