The final two games with an impact on Western Conference playoff seedings have been completed with Detroit beating Chicago 3-2 in overtime and Los Angeles beating Colorado 2-1, also in overtime.
That combination drops the Predators to seventh and a first round match with Chicago, probably starting on Wednesday night.
Here's how the west will match up:
San Jose - Colorado
Chicago - Nashville
Vancouver - Los Angeles
Phoenix - Detroit
In the Eastern Conference, the last impact game is now over with Buffalo losing to New Jersey in the contest for second place.
In the East Philadelphia made their way into the playoffs by defeating New York 2-1 in a shootout. It was really disappointing to see a playoff berth and everything that goes with it come down to a skills contest. The win vaulted the Flyers into seventh place.
The first round matches in the east will look like this:
Washington - Montreal
New Jersey - Philadelphia
Buffalo - Boston
Pittsburgh - Ottawa
The official playoff schedule will be announced later, but it is most likely that the Preds will play in Chicago on Wednesday and Friday based on building availability. Preds home games would likely be next Sunday and the following Tuesday.
More Later...
