Sulzer Returns to Milwaukee

The Nashville Predators returned defenseman Alexander Sulzer to Milwaukee this afternoon so he will be in a position to see live game action on Wednesday when the Admirals play Peoria.

Barry Trotz has repeatedly said that he wanted to work Sulzer into a game but hasn't found the right opportunity. Playing in Milwaukee appears to be the only option at this point until something changes with the Preds top six defensemen.

Here is the full release from the Nashville Predators...

Nashville, Tenn. (December 1, 2009) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has reassigned defenseman Alexander Sulzer (al-ehx-AN-duhr SUHLT-suhr) to Milwaukee (AHL).

Sulzer, 25 (5/30/84), did not dress during his most recent call-up, and has played in five games with the Predators this season, posting his first career point/assist on Oct. 22 at Ottawa, while averaging 12:46 of ice time and notching a plus-two rating.

The Predators play their next two games on the road – traveling to Minnesota on Wednesday (7 p.m., FOX Sports Tennessee) and Chicago on Friday (7:30 p.m., FOX Sports Tennessee) – before returning to Nashville for a four-game homestand from Dec. 5-12. Tickets to these games, which include matchups against Minnesota, Vancouver, Columbus and Detroit, and all other regular season contests, are now on sale and can be purchased by logging onto nashvillepredators.com. Tickets are also available by calling (615) 770-PUCK and at all Ticketmaster locations.
