Preds Make First Cuts at Camp

Not surprisingly with the rookie camp open the Predators cleared our some room today by sending 12 players elsewhere. The following is the Preds Press Release in it's entirety.


PREDATORS REDUCE TRAINING CAMP ROSTER BY 12 PLAYERS
-Seven from rookie camp join veterans; roster now at 44-

Nashville, Tenn. (September 16, 2009) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club removed 12 players from its 2009 training camp roster, leaving it at 44 players.

2009 draft picks Taylor Beck, Gabriel Bourque, Michael Latta and Charles-Olivier Roussel were returned to their junior teams, while Scott Brannon, John Decaro, Mike McLean, Jacob Muzzin, Brock Sheahan, Arvid Stromberg, Pierre-Alexandre Vandall and Mark Van Guilder were released from Professional/Amateur Tryout Agreements.

Seven players who participated in Predators Rookie Camp – Jonathon Blum, Ryan Ellis, Ian McKenzie, Chet Pickard, Mark Santorelli, Russ Sinkewich, Jeremy Smith, Nick Spaling and Colin Wilson – have now joined the main camp.

The Predators open the 2009 Preseason tomorrow when they take on the Atlanta Thrashers at 7 p.m. at the Sommet Center. The contest is one of two home games that will take place during Preds Fest, a three-day fan appreciation event at the Sommet Center, Sept. 17-19 to help kick off the season. The event features several fan-friendly events such as free tickets, a tailgate party and the unveiling of the Predators new third jersey.
