As expected, the Nashville Predators made another round of cuts this morning as they move closer to the final 22 or 23 players that will be with the team on opening day. We expected something official from the Predators but John Glennon reports that Mark Dekanich, Jonathon Blum, Ben Eaves, and Andreas Thuresson have been sent to Milwaukee.
With several injuries the list of players remaining in camp is a bit larger than was originally intended. With games tomorrow and Sunday, the Preds need enough healthy bodies to fill out the game roster.
The players that were sent to Milwaukee will see immediate action as the Ads have games against Chicago tonight in Milwaukee and tomorrow night in Chicago.
With Francis Bouillon still not 100% and several other young defensemen yet to show consistency that the coaches would like to see, do not rule out the Predators cherry picking the waiver wire over the next week for another defenseman.
Likewise, if a forward that would be a good fit is waived, the Preds will not hesitate to make an addition to add additional scoring and depth. As it stands now, Mike Santorelli appears to have locked down the sixth forward position but the Preds could use another experienced player or two if the right ones become available at a good price.
By the process of elimination, here are the players that remain in camp with the Predators.
