The Morning After Round-Up: Predators 3, Red Wings 2

The Western Conference race is as crazy as it ever has been with the St. Louis Blues jumping out to a three point lead over Vancouver and the Predators remaining eight points back with 14 games to go.

The Blues are ready to embark on a seven game road trip starting today that should tell the tale of whether that can indeed be a contender in the President's trophy race.

The Predators have a legitimate shot at fourth place, ahead of Detroit, who has a four point lead over Nashville, with the Preds having a game in hand. Both teams are headed to the west coast and will need to win on the road to capture home ice in the first round.

For the Predators, it all starts Monday night at 9 p.m. in Phoenix.

There is little doubt that the conference seeding and who grabs the final playoff slots will not be decided until the final week of the season.

Here is our game story from last night and Barry Trotz's postgame presser.  Make the jump for the full round-up of everything from the game...
