Will the Predators Send the Cavalry to Milwaukee for AHL Game Seven? (Press Release Added)

The Milwaukee Admirals face the daunting task of a game seven against the Houston Aeros at 7 p.m. at the Bradley Center tonight but will help be on the way? Several Predators who have gone through the rigors of of of twelve Stanley Cup Playoff games at the highest level of hockey could head to Wisconsin today to help the Ads move to the next level.

Chris Mueller and Teemu Laakso are certain to return as they were brought up by the Predators in an abundance of caution in case someone was unable to go in last night's game six against Vancouver.

Blake Geoffrion, Jon Blum, and Matt Halischuk were all on Milwaukee's clear day roster and are eligible to return for what the Admirals hope will be an extended playoff run and a shot at the Calder Cup. If all are healthy and make the move back to the AHL, it would greatly enhance the Ads chances continue onward.

Barry Trotz discussed the commitment to Milwaukee after last night's loss, "We've made some great strides as an organization. Our team in Milwaukee is in the seventh game of the second round and they'll probably get a whole whack of guys from this game for their game tomorrow."

Trotz continued, "Our organization is about winning. Very few teams have both teams that seem to be in the playoffs every year and that's what we've done here. We're creating a good environment for winning but we've got a long way to go. This is Vancouver's 40th year. It's hard to win the Stanley Cup."

Trotz commented on the growth of the younger players, "Jon Blum played twenty games for us and he's playing against Ryan Kesler who may have played the most incredible six games you will ever see and that's pretty good growth."

How the young guys react when they go to Milwaukee will be a true test of character and if the past is a good judge, they will pass with flying colors. It is all about class, character, and being a winner and that is the "Predators Way."

We will update with the official release from the Predators once an announcement is made as to exactly ho is going to Milwaukee.

Blake Geoffrion tweeted this morning that he and Blum were at the airport together. Since Blake lives in town and final team meetings, etc haven't been had yet, I can only assume they are quickly on their way to Wisconson to help the team. Only one I haven't heard about for sure is Halischuk

I think that the more hockey that the youngsters can play is just a way of bettering their game on every level.

The downside is the chemistry the team has vs what they had when these 3 were in Milwaukee. They were an important part of getting the Admirals to this point to start with. That being said, I've seen Milwaukee in this position before - receiving Preds after their playoff run is done. I'm not sure it really helps the team, but it helps the players with the additional ice time & playoff ice time.

That being said, I'm looking forward to a game 7 tonight & hopefully will be smacking the glass for many goals.
