Multiple sources are reporting that a grievance hearing has been set for July 8 to determine whether the Nashville Predators failed to submit qualifying offers to seven restricted free agents prior to this past Monday's 5 p.m. ET deadline.
The players involved are Sergei Kostitsyn, Matt Halischuk, Nick Spaling, Chris Mueller, Andreas Thuresson, Linus Klasen and Cal O'Reilly. The Predators put out a news release Tuesday claiming they had issued qualifying offers to all seven players.
An arbitrator will rule on the case -- and if he finds that the Predators did not meet the deadline, the players will all become unrestricted free agents.
