Predators Return Olveckey and Thuresson to Milwaukee

After a brief one game call up, the Nashville Predators returned Peter Olveckey and Andreas Thuresson to Milwaukee. Both played well in limited action in Saturday's 4-2 win over Dallas.

Coach Barry Trotz was pleased with their contribution and pointed to Olvecky's dominance in a Milwaukee Admirals game that he saw in person the prior week. It is likely that both will return at some point later this season.

The brief moves were needed due to the injuries to Marty Erat, Jason Arnott and Jordin Tootoo who may be ready to return by the next game on Thursday. There was also concern that Joel Ward potentially was too sick to play on Saturday but he was able to go and showed no signs of any illness.

NASHVILLE PREDATORS REASSIGN FORWARDS PETER OLVECKY AND ANDREAS THURESSON TO MILWAUKEE

Nashville, Tenn. (October 31, 2009) – Following tonight’s 4-2 win over the Dallas Stars, Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced that the club has reassigned forwards Peter Olvecky and Andreas Thuresson to Milwaukee (AHL).

Thuresson made his NHL debut on Saturday night, playing 8:48 and dishing out three hits, which tied a game high. Olvecky played his first game as a Predator in the victory, logging 7:53 of ice time.

The Predators now head out on a four-game road trip having won four of their last five games. The club will play at the Honda Center in Anaheim on Thursday (9 p.m., FOX Sports Tennessee, 104.5 The Zone), then make stops in Los Angeles, San Jose and St. Louis before returning home to face the Montreal Canadiens on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets to this game, and all other regular season contests are on sale and can be purchased by logging onto nashvillepredators.com.
