In a summer of tragedy in the hockey world, the news just doesn't seem to get any better with the announcement that a Yakovlev Yak-42 passenger plane carrying the Lokomotiv team of the KHL crashed near the city of Yaroslavl in Central Russia.
We offer our condolences to families, friends, and acquaintances of the victims of the accident. Details of the situation remain sketchy but will come out in time.
RLD Hockey Talk that was scheduled for noon today has been canceled out of respect all involved.
